Notify all appropriate parties of your
change of address and any firms that need to cancel services to your
home.
Obtain copies of school transcripts and medical records and be sure
to update medical check-ups, shots and prescriptions.
Secure copies of important papers such as mortgage documents, deeds, etc and keep the originals in a safety deposit box or with a
trusted friend or relatives.
If you are moving overseas, be sure to obtain the proper visas, work
permits and passports.
Dispense of items that you are not permitted to ship such as
comestible liquids, paints, dyes, aerosol cans, gas canisters,
corrosives, explosives, or other flammable or hazardous materials.

items that are prohibited in your destination country.
Plan your meals to use up all perishable food. And don't forget to
defrost, clean and dry the refrigerator or freezer.
Separate goods that need to be carried with you such as personal
items, papers, jewelry, eyeglasses, contacts, medicines, etc.
Obtain updated appraisals on high value items to be shipped.
Prepare a valued inventory of your goods and take photos of the
contents of your home. This information should accompany you.
